The Triangle was planted this past Sunday. We had developed a planting plan with NYCParks, and we needed to adapt based upon plant availability. We ended up with eleven different types of native plants that mostly are in alignment with a full-sun exposure and that are draught tolerant. Many of these you will find along the Hudson Park Greenway and are known to do well in our urban environment.
Pollinators and butterflies should find them as a welcoming stopover.
The next few weeks will be crucial to getting these plants established and will also test our watering skills and frequencies (always looking for volunteers to help tend the garden).
We will keep a close eye on these babies and see how they progress in their new homes.
