Barnett Newman Triangle Receives Encouraging Support from City Hall

Community Board 1 recently received responses from City Hall regarding its FY2027 budget requests for Lower Manhattan. Among the few projects receiving positive attention was continued support for improvements to the Barnett Newman Triangle in Tribeca.

According to the City’s response, Parks officials stated that they have been “working closely with the Friends group to beautify the triangle, remove the old shrubs and put in new planting material,” and that they “will continue to coordinate with them to improve the site.”

We are grateful for the ongoing partnership and support from Community Board 1 and the NYC Parks Department as we continue working to enhance this important neighborhood green space. We look forward to continuing our stewardship efforts this season and sharing future improvements with the community.
